The Beacons of Life: Part 2

“The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of the mind for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.”Anatole France

Nothing can stop teachers when they have set their mind on leading students to their destined future. They remain right by a student’s side throughout the process of discovery. It’s one of the many reasons why teaching is one of the most noble professions.

Take a look at what it means to be a teacher for these educators across India:

Here’s my take on “What it means to be a teacher”.

A teacher… Hmmm, the most powerful and influential figure for any student. Second parents, friendly but not friends, above all HOPE in the HOPELESS time.

I feel it’s my proud privilege to be a teacher where my every move and action can positively affect hundreds of lives, where what I say and talk with the generation next can shape the thoughts of innocent raw slates.

Where I have the power to touch, inspire and make a difference in the life of every single student I come across in my Career.

For me a teacher affects eternity. Teachers have to be passionate about every learner. It is not a job for them but a vocation. They need to live what they are saying to the learners. They must have a scientific mind and a caring attitude. They have to be lifelong learners. A teacher’s responsibility never ends. We are the society makers and we are the change makers.

A teacher who loves to teach and loves whom she teaches holds a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart by playing the role of a substitute parent, friend, philosopher and guide from time to time!

Happy Teacher’s Day to all such wonderful teachers who blossom the hearts and minds of their students!

A true teacher is one who loves the students unconditionally. I believe that if I have taken up the job as a teacher then I need to do justice with it as the future of the nation is there in my class. Being a true teacher calls for sacrifices of all kinds be it travelling extra miles for the benefits of the students or working on making your class so interesting that a child looks forward to your class.

A teacher needs to be a counsellor too and should understand the mood swings of the students and do not measure every child’s calibre with the same yardstick. Emotional Quotient, Spiritual Quotient and Intelligence Quotient all must be in mind to develop a holistic child who in turn will take over this Nation in future. And 21st Century Classrooms need to be adept in technology.

Good education can change everyone, but a good teacher can change everything. That’s the power of a teacher. A teacher with a smile in her tone than a smile on her face tries to communicate the knowledge. She is a good listener with good sense of humor, involves caring for children and being responsible for their development in complex society. Teaching is a very humanistic profession, and compassion is the utmost feeling of understanding and showing others you are concerned about them.
